Lost and Found - Exciting new adaptation for M.I.F.
Will is partnering with the Manchester International Festival and Gruff Rhys (Super Furry Animals) on a wonderful new adaptation of Oliver Jeffer's NYT and worldwide best-selling book 'Lost and Found'.
The production will take place within a 270º wrap-around animated world, combining traditional puppetry techniques with state-of-the-art mapped projection.
The production will stick very close to both the style and the tone of the original book, creating what Will calls 'the space between the illustrations' to tell this heartfelt story about what appears to be a lost penguin and his friendship with a boy who helps him get back home.
Slated for production at brand new venue 'The Factory' opening in Manchester in 2023/24
Will has teamed up with Mega-Producers Selladoor to bring Dennis to the stage in a way never imagined before. This is no 'foam head' style children's show, but rather a full-on indie rock adventure for the whole family.
What do you do when the hero of a musical has no intention of being in a musical? When the very idea of a musical sends him into fits of laughter?
In the clever adaptation, Will pits musical theatre against indie-rock - combined with slapstick comedy, fantastic songs and choreography in which Dennis is forced to question his whole reason for being the outlier - tearing him away from his closest friends and even putting Walter in great danger of being MORE popular than Dennis is!
A fantastic fun-filled adventure that will please all Dennis fans, old and new - the official launch date is held over until the covid pandemic has been brought under control, but watch this space for news on this not-to-be-missed theatre experience.
Bad-Books
National Literacy Trust research found that being given the opportunity to read ebooks had a positive impact on children's reading attitudes, particularly for boys, and those who began to project as less engaged readers.
Will recently launched a series of books aimed at 7-11 yrs, especially for reluctant readers.
'Bad-Books' is an indie publishing label for Will's books, in both e-book and print form. Starting with the first season in a long-running adventure series, 'Re-Evolution' imagines different versions of Earth where humans are no longer dominant.
Look out later this year for two comedy adventures 'The Partially Invisible Boy' and 'Fairy Boy' - soon to be followed by the frankly ridiculous comedy series 'Farty-Arty' about a boy with superflatual powers! (I know...)
